There is a little rain forecast for D.C. this week, but with temps in the '70s, who really cares? If you're waiting the rain out at one of the Mall museums and can catch a quick break in the weather or if you need a little something different to do in the sweet sunshine headed our way, check out the National Mall's Carousel. At $3.50 a pop, including for parents chaperoning little ones (which is a REALLY good idea - the staff could care less), it's not cheap. But it's a pretty decent ride. And mom successfully kept both of us upright by herself while our neighboring horsies inevitably rose and fell at different times. If you're a history buff, check out the
Washington Post's review detailing the carousel's interesting past.
The National Mall Carousel is open from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. (until Labor Day).
a dragon horse? no, that didn't have Kane's name written all over it or anything.
