Even though we miss the beach, we are glad to be back in D.C. and resume our local adventures. Given that the Stead Park excrement issue seems to be a recurring problem (WHY DPR is allowing someone to use the park as a toilet, we just can't imagine), we are on the lookout for new, cool playgrounds to explore this summer. Yesterday we checked out Westminster Playground -- a little gem of a park tucked away in the Westminster neighborhood -- and had a blast! Although its not huge, it is shaded by lots of big ol' trees, has a small sprayground (which we were able to activate ourselves!), is filled with plenty of push toys and cars, and NO POOP. I loved setting up a "car wash" with the friendly neighborhood kids and Cami loved playing in the water with her feet. Mom loved the mural and mosaics. I think this is going to be a new favorite of ours this summer!
What are YOUR favorite D.C. playgrounds?
