A few weeks ago, one of our favorite local blogs, No Monsters in My Bed, posted a challenge to document a typical day by shooting 12 pictures in 12 hours. We thought it was a super cool idea and even though we aren't legit photographers, we decided to take a run at it. We settled on choosing 1 - 2 photos for every hour of a 12-hour period (we had trouble narrowing it down to just one in some cases!). It was nice to have a snapshot of an ordinary Not-So-SAHM day (albeit a very rainy and uneventful one) and think we'll try to do this once a month. Any other takers?
7.30 a.m. -- breakfast. it's generally a good idea to steer clear of mom until she's had her coffee.
8.45 a.m. -- drive to school. rain means more traffic = unhappy everyone. at least we got a longer period of time to argue over whether our favorite building is a pirate/knight or a princess castle.
9.50 a.m. -- mom and Cam head to the post office to mail birthday thank you and mother's day cards.
10.15 a.m. -- starbucks snack break -- Cam likes to do everything herself. aaaaand, still raining.
11.00 a.m. -- grocery store stop for gatorade and soup. daddy's home from work sick - a highly rare occurrence.
12.35 p.m. -- Kane launches epic pirate vs. ninja battle while mom makes lunch.
1.45 p.m. -- Cam naps upon request ("I want to go to sleep in my bed. Now.")
2.05 p.m. -- mom takes Veg on mid-day walk in the rain. neither of them are happy, but daddy being at home means the kids get to take a pass on this daily responsibility.
3.45 p.m. -- Kane executes a sick nasty jump at karate.
4.10 p.m. -- yogurt with 3! toppings for a very cooperative ninja.
5.00 p.m. -- coveted t.v. and puzzle time while mom cleans up and preps for dinner.
6.15 p.m. -- mom gets our favorite slow cooker bolognese going for tomorrow and we score big on brinner for tonight.
7.15 p.m. -- two mermaids finish up their bath while Kane gets ready for bedtime reading.

I love it, especially the grocery store shot!! We should pick a day to do it next month and post pics the same day (and link to each other).
