Despite some misbehavior, we all still had a fabulous week and enjoyed getting to take Vegas with us to spend great time with our grandparents. And we even took a day trip to Colonial Williamsburg -- more to come on that soon. In the meantime, here's how we spent the rest of our week!

Fly Away: Mathews, Virginia
When summer camp ends and the rest of summer looms before us, it's become our thing to pack up the car and take to the road. Visiting friends, family, and taking an east coast vacation with our Grammie and Grandpa B. Last year, we explored Princess Anne, MD and this year we trekked down to the (not far away) Mathews, VA. We had a lovely little house smack on a tributary to Mobjack Bay and got to spend an entire week kayaking, fishing, beaching, camping, arting, trying to catch fiddler crabs, and eating. And, ummm... acting up. Kane might have used the extended opportunity of single parenting to play "let's see how far I can push mom." He found out how far when he trebucheted a carrot during our last night of dinner and returned home to find his much-missed knights had taken a vacation of their own. Can't beat mom.

Looks like you guys had a great time! I'm so glad! And the look on Kane's face with the fish is priceless. :)
These photos are awesome. And, also, I had to look up what "trebuchet" means. :)
Yes, well, he was quite specific about what weapon into which he'd turned his fork.
