DIY Tiedye Playdough Bath Soap

Our kids can smell the bathstore LUSH from miles away (who can't, really) and they are obsessed with their moldable soap. Its fantastic, but, like everything else in there, it's expensive. Now being a DIY veteran, I'm fully aware that "doing it yourself" often ends up costing far more in money and effort than simply sucking it up and buying it. BUT we found an incredibly easy recipe for playdough bath soap. Then we tie dyed it. BOOM. It's a snap to customize and you probably have all the ingredients all ready!

To make your own, you'll need (per batch):
- 1/4 cup bath soap (we used our favorite 3-in-1 soap)
- 1/2 - 3/4 cup corn starch
 - 1 tsp coconut oil
- essential oils (optional, but we purchased this starter set a few months ago and have used it for several projects, including our Father's Day Aromatherapy Spray)
- gel food dye

Mix together bath soap, a drop or two of essential oil, and gel food coloring. Melt coconut oil in microwave for a few seconds and stir in. Add 1/2 cup and mix well. If the mixture is still sticky, add up to 1/4 cup of additional corn starch. If it gets too crumble, add a touch more soap and/or coconut oil. Knead and knead and knead until you get a good playdough consistency.

To get our tie dye effect. Make two additional color batches. Divide each batch into three and then knead three colors together. Store in an airtight container and use about a tablespoon per time as hand or bath soap.
